Best Year-Round Waterfall Kayaking Is Northeast Of Twin Falls ID

Kayaking in Idaho is one of my favorite ways to spend my free time. I've visited numerous lakes and rivers in the Gem State, but one, in particular, stands out as offering an unparalleled experience on the water.

My family has spent years camping and exploring throughout southern and central Idaho. A favorite destination of ours is 40 miles northwest of Galena Summit. It's a trip we only take in the warmer months due to the fact that travel over the 8,700-foot summit is incredibly dangerous when the snow is coming down. There are a number of beautiful lakes that can be accessed all within a two-hour drive from Sawtooth City, which is the gateway to these remarkable destinations.

This region of south-central Idaho offers easy drives to popular spots like Stanley Lake, Alturas Lake, Redfish Lake, Alice Lake, and Sawtooth Lake. It's a special part of the state, and finding a spot to relax on the water away from others is easy to do.

Another area of the state outdoor enthusiasts should focus attention on is 200 miles northeast of Twin Falls. Fall Creek Falls is unlike any other kayaking experience in the state. The falls are even more gorgeous in the wintertime, but kayakers need to prepare themselves for the added challenges of cold weather navigating.

The stunning falls cascade 60 feet into the Snake River, which makes for a great opportunity to cool down in the summer and grab some exceptional photographs in the winter.
