
Utah RV Destroyed in Fire on Idaho Highway Wednesday Afternoon
An RV traveling from Utah to Idaho caught fire on Wednesday afternoon, according to a report from the Idaho State Police. ISP are investigating the fire which blocked the roadway for around 4 hours.
The vehicle fire happened on Interstate 15 at the Malad Summit in southeast Idaho near Downey at 1:49PM. Idaho 511 has a camera on the highway at that location.
The report from the Idaho State Police states:
A 75-year-old male from Spanish Fork, Utah was traveling northbound on I15 at milepost 25, in a yellow and red RV. The RV caught fire and the male pulled over to the right shoulder. The RV was destroyed by the fire.
The driver was the only occupant of the RV and was not inured in the fire.
Multiple Fatal Accidents Reported on Interstate 15 in Southern Idaho
I15 has been a deadly road in recent weeks as there have been multiple ISP reports of fatal accidents on the Interstate. The three most recent happened within a few days of each other.
Four people were killed in the three accidents. The first happened on October 21st near Fort Hall, killing two people, the second was on October 23rd near Spencer, killing one person, and October 24th in Pocatello was the third, which killed one person.
