
REPORT: School Bus With Students On Board Hit on Southern Idaho Highway
The Idaho State Police have begun investigating an accident on a Southern Idaho highway involving a school bus that had been hit by another vehicle and then struck a concrete barrier. There were students on the bus when the accident happened, and all of them were transported by ground ambulance to a nearby location. The bus driver was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The vehicle that hit the bus fled the scene.
Hit and Run Crash Involving School Bus Reported on Idaho Highway
The accident happened on Thursday evening, around 8:23 PM, eastbound on Interstate 84, close to mile marker 208. This section of highway is a construction zone north of Burley near the Overland Ave. interchange. ISP responded to the scene after receiving a call that the bus had hit a wall and was blocking the left lane of eastbound travel.
The report also says the occupants of the bus, students, had exited the bus and were standing on the road. All of the students were taken to a nearby location by ambulance, though no serious injuries were reported, where they could be united with parents and school officials. The bus driver was injured and taken to a local hospital.

The bus sustained significant front and undercarriage damage after striking several jersey barriers.
Troopers determined the crash involved a hit-and-run, and a second driver was later identified and cited in connection with the incident.
The report reminds drivers that leaving the scene of an accident can result in criminal charges.
