The Idaho State Police reported two serious accidents over the weekend, and both were reportedly caused by inattentive drivers rear-ending other vehicles. One was a rollover accident in Southern Idaho, and the other was a multi-vehicle crash in West Central Idaho, about 15 miles from the Washington State border.

There were no fatalities in the accidents, but several people were taken to local hospitals for medical care. The accidents are being investigated by the Idaho State Police.

Two Sent to Hospital Following Rollover Crash in Southern Idaho

A rollover accident was reported by the ISP on Saturday, January 10th. The accident happened at 6:11 in the evening on Interstate 15, headed southbound at mile marker 59. In the report, it states:

An 84-year-old Male out of Helena, Montana, was driving southbound in a Ford F-150 pulling a travel trailer.

A 29-year-old Female out of Grace, Idaho, driving a Jeep Cherokee rear-ended the travel trailer, causing the vehicle to roll over into the median.

Both drivers were transported by ambulance to a local hospital. The female driver was not wearing her seatbelt, and the male driver was. The accident closed the interstate for five hours.

Three Vehicles Involved in Rear-End Accident in Idaho Near the Washington Border

The second accident happened a few minutes after noon on January 11th in the northbound lane of US95 at mile marker 185.4. The location of the accident was a few miles south of Riggins. Idaho 511 has a camera near that location.

According to the Idaho State Police, there were three vehicles involved in the accident:

A 77-year-old-male, from Riggins, Idaho, was traveling northbound on US95 in a blue 2007 Cadillac DTS when he was coming to a stop in the roadway.

A multi-vehicle rear-end crash occurred involving a 39-year-old-female, from Meridian, Idaho, driving a white 2019 Jeep Compass and a 42-year-old-male, from Riggins, Idaho, driving a white 2008 Toyota Tundra.

The police report says the drivers of the Jeep and Cadillac were wearing seatbelts when the accident happened, and the driver of the Toyota was not. A passenger in the jeep was injured and taken to a local hospital by ground ambulance for medical care.
