Wildlife Alert: Watch This Gigantic Moose Walk Down the Center of a Road

We all know there are animals that you do not ever want to meet in a dark alley or mess with.

You don’t want to have a run-in with a bear or have a mountain lion hanging out in your yard. But sometimes we forget that a lot of the dangerous animals in Idaho don’t have claws and don’t want to eat you. They just want you to stay away.

We learned from the Twin Falls Sheriff last year that moose can be curious. They may want to approach you but you should never be the one that approaches them. Even in the comfort and perceived safety of your vehicle, a moose can do a lot of damage.

I’m not an expert and it’s hard to tell from the video, but the SUV looks like an old Suzuki Grand Vitara. If that is the case, those cars weigh around 4,000 pounds and are about 5 and a half feet tall. The moose in the video looks to be at least as big as the car if you don’t count the legs and antlers. With the legs and massive antlers, the SUV is dwarfed by the moose.

The video doesn't say what state it's from, but the drivers of the cars were very lucky as moose can be aggressive. We shared a story last year with a video showing a moose chasing a dog in Island Park, near Yellowstone National Park. That moose doesn’t look nearly as big as the first moose and was still terrifying. You can see that moose encounter below and read more about the incident.
