Two Accidents Reported Within a Few Miles of Each Other On Southern Idaho Highway
There are nearly constant reports of accidents happening on roads around the Gem State. Some information comes from the Idaho State Police or other law enforcement authorities, some comes from locals reporting first-hand what they see on social media.
Sometimes we only get a tiny bit of information as the accidents are still being cleared. Currently (while writing this story) there are four accidents being shown on the Idaho 511 website. Some only say that there is an accident or a blockage with no other details and sometimes, like the accident near Twin Falls it gives a little more, saying there is a vehicle on fire.

After we get those initial reports, there is a waiting period as crews cleanup and investigators gather information. This morning, we received reports on two accidents that had shown on Idaho 511 hours earlier. These crashes happened only about 4 miles apart and within 2 hours of each other on I-15 in Southern Idaho near Inkom. A person was killed in one of the accidents and another was injured in the other.
The fatal accident happened on Interstate 15 near mile marker 60 around 5:40 PM on October 1st. The injury accident happened on Interstate 15 at mile marker 56 a few minutes before 4 PM on October 1st.
