Every now and then here in the Treasure Valley, the 'little things' take over our social media feeds. Often a break from the usual cat videos (which we love) or political rants (which can just go away already), these 'little moments' include something that everyone in town can see: a sunset, for example.

Those that love the great outer space were anticipating the latest 'look up' moment--but many others that were up EARLY were surprised to see a rare sight: a blood moon!

A 'total lunar eclipse' is what turned the moon red early Tuesday morning.

The moon, earth, and the sun all aligned just right so that the earth's shadow totally blots out the moon.

We're very thankful to all of the folks that jumped onto our Facebook post to share their view of the Blood Moon over Boise--take a look at some of our favorites, below!

A 'Blood Moon over Boise' sounds like the title of a horror novel!

The shade of red of course, comes from the sun! It appeared over the Treasure Valley in the very early morning hours on Tuesday, March 3rd.

Did you miss out? Have a serious case of FOMO like we do? You're going to need to be patient...it wont reappear above us again until LATE in the year 2028!

You may remember that not long ago, Boise experienced what was called a 'Blue Moon'--something even more rare. Take a look at the photos below!
