6 Of The Most Expensive Floods To Strike Idaho

We've had some pretty crazy weather as of late with record-breaking temperatures all across Idaho and the Treasure Valley.

Yesterday was one for the books with an assortment of weather events with the wildfires out west even creating their own weather system.

Flooding in Idaho

Heavy rain is much needed right now but we don't want to see any devastation from flooding. There's no telling how much this wildfire will cost us all when it's all said and done, and Idaho is no stranger to natural disasters.

Idaho has seen its fair share of earthquakes and fires but dare we say nothing has been more devastating than the floods of Idaho.

As a matter of fact, some of these devastating floods have caused millions of dollars of damage leaving people in financial ruin. Today, we're looking at the six most expensive floods that have ever struck Idaho with the most expensive flood we could find causing an estimated $65 million in damages.

That particular flood caused damage to over 400 miles of roads and railroads, stranding over 10,000 out-of-town visitors in the process.

Floods are terrifying and as you'll see, they can be extremely expensive.

Weather events like the ones we've been enduring recently should make us all stop and appreciate our first responders more than we already do - especially our firefighters.
