Understanding Utah's Polygamous Past

Let's be real here... Utah has a long and pretty misunderstood history when it comes to polygamy. While it's true that plural marriage was practiced by early members of the LDS Church in the 1800s, the church officiallly ended that practice more than 100 years ago. Today, the majority of LDS members do not practice polygamy, but the association of it has stuck around. It's still one of the biggest misconceptions about people from Utah and its culture.

That history, though, has left behind some pretty fascinating and unique places across the state. Places like homes that were originally built for plural families. In recent years, a few of these properties have been restored and repurposed, and it now gives people a chance to step inside a piece of Utah's past. One of those is a polygamist-style Airbnb that is turning heads, offering people a chance to experience a home that they've only seen on TV.

Take a look inside this polygamist Airbnb in the Beehive State.
