Beware of Naked People and Bad Behavior in the Gem State
During the summer, many of us are looking to escape the heat. One way to do so is to remove clothes, but there is a time and a place to do this. In the safety of your own home, in a fenced-in backyard, or in a remote place where nobody is around. While those last two aren't recommended, they are much safer options than other places. It is unacceptable and illegal behavior to be nude in public in Idaho, but for some, that doesn't seem to stop them. Recently, a situation occurred where a man decided to expose himself publicly, and the situation was unacceptable and crossed a line in Idaho.
Indecent Exposure in Idaho
According to a recent Facebook post on a rants and raves page, a situation occurred at Rock Creek Park in Twin Falls where a man was talking to two young girls as their grandmother watched on. The girls, their grandmother, and the man were feeding and petting the cats in the park when the man and the girls went around a tree where the cats often reside. The grandmother, still watching, heard the girls scream as the man ran away quickly to his car, got in, and drove away. With the tree blocking the man's lower half, he exposed himself to the young girls before they reacted. Luckily, the girls and the grandmother were able to identify the man and let the police know what he looked like and what he had done. This type of behavior is never acceptable, especially with children. Sadly, this is likely not the first time this has happened.
Nudity in Idaho
There are few places where nudity is acceptable anywhere in the Gem State. On the rare occasion you do end up nude outdoors, how you conduct yourself matters. In the situation listed above, the intent was perverse and in no way acceptable. A woman or a man soaking in a hot springs in the woods, lying out in their backyard, or skinny dipping in their private pool are all more acceptable as they are not done with any ill intent. Any type of sexual arousal or behavior crosses a line and is not tolerated by many, if any, in the state. The only legal place to go nude in the state is Bare Mountain Retreat, located near Boise. Any other place is at your own risk, and may end in legal matters.

If you see any type of behavior like the one listed above, make sure to contact authorities immediately. It is best to protect our children from any lewd behavior and to stop it from spreading and becoming the norm in Idaho. Keep your clothes on and keep them in your pants or under your shirt when in public, especially when children are present.
