MERIDIAN, Idaho (AP) — A man injured in what Idaho law enforcement officials are calling a drug-fueled rampage has been released from the hospital, but likely faces numerous surgeries to repair his face.

The Idaho Press-Tribune reports Chris Cade, a Nampa firefighter injured in Thursday's incident, will recover at home for now. In addition to facial injuries that will require plates and screws, Cade suffered damage to his mouth and teeth, a collapsed lung, a broken rib and collar bone and a fractured scapula.

Police arrested 23-year-old Sean Carnell, who is accused of a spree of violence in which he's also alleged to have kicked a dog, punched a teen, beat up a construction worker with a shovel and tipped over a man in a wheelchair. Cade's family says they remain in shock.
