Why Construction in the Magic Valley Could Cost a Life in Idaho

Construction has been happening all over the Magic Valley and as the weather gets warm, more and more projects will be taking place. It has been irritating for drivers in the Magic Valley to find other ways to get to and from home, often taking longer than most are used to. With so many roads being closed it is tough to navigate at times and has caused road rage to be on the rise over the last few weeks. If you need to get somewhere in a hurry, now is not the time as you likely will be stuck behind slower vehicles and have to take a path out of your way. The construction in the Magic Valley is making the roads more dangerous and is likely to lead to more wrecks and deaths over the next few weeks and months. 

Construction in Idaho Causing Road Rage

Construction on Pole Line or 4100 N, whichever you prefer to call it, has led to more and more drivers taking Highway 30 in and out of Buhl and the Filer area. Because of this it is backing up traffic in most directions and causing road rage. Drivers are growing impatient as it takes only one tractor, big truck, or slow driver to have someone wanting to pass, but unable to because of the heavy traffic flow coming from the other direction. Some drivers don't care and are willing to take the chance which has raised the chances of head-on collisions on Highway 30. In the last week, multiple instances have occurred where vehicles were on the wrong side of the road passing another vehicle and cutting it close before getting back over. This trend is likely to increase in the coming weeks and months.

Summer Road Construction in Idaho

With so many drivers being led to the same road there was always going to be an increase in traffic, but it will only get worse as tourist season begins, kids are out for school, and more and more people take time off work to enjoy summer. This will lead to more impatient drivers flying around vehicles and raise the risk of head-on collisions. Surprisingly, there haven't been more already. While drivers need to be patient and smart, not everyone will be and it is only a matter of time until major wrecks occur, and then slow down traffic more when the road is closed while it gets cleaned up.
