Two months ago, it looked like one of the greatest Boise Christmas traditions would be canceled. The community rallied together to raise over $180,000 to help keep the Christmas lights glowing and the gates at the Idaho Botanical Gardens open.

The COVID-19 pandemic hit the gardens hard. With live music on hold, the Garden had to cancel all twelve of the the concerts planned for their Outlaw Field concert series. Admissions dropped to a 13-year low. They were worried they wouldn't be able to pay the staff that traditionally starts stringing the lights for Winter Garden aGlow in September.

When word of potentially calling off one of the cheeriest holiday events in the Treasure Valley started to travel, the community responded to the non-profit's membership drive in a big way, raising $182,485 by the beginning of September.

The response allowed them to move ahead with planning a COVID conscious Winter Garden aGlow 2020!

This year's display is set of open on Thanksgiving Day and operate Wednesday-Sunday thru December 27. To control crowds and ensure psychical distancing, purchasing your tickets in advance is required this year.  Limited one-hour timed ticketing will be available every thirty minutes beginning at 6 p.m. The final admission block begins at 8:30.

This year's display will feature a one-way path through the wonderland of lights the Garden staff has created. It will be clearly marked by directional arrows. Masks will be required during your visit.

Corporate packages that allow your company exclusive access on Wednesday, Thursdays and Sundays from 6-7 p.m. You'll also get access to a 20x20 open air tent, three tables and a burn barrel to stay warm. Those are on sale now through October 25.
