The Best Way to Find Free Entertainment in the Magic Valley

It has long been stated that there is nothing to do in the Magic Valley, but most residents know that isn't true. Yes, there are no amusement parks or water parks, and many wish there were a Chuck E. Cheese or Dave & Busters, but there is still fun to be had in Twin Falls and across the Magic Valley. One of the problems with finding fun and entertainment is that most of it costs money. Even when kayaking, boating, or fishing, you still need permits or a license. The costs aren't bad, but paying anything is often too much for most. What is the best way to find free entertainment in the Magic Valley, and what can you do that is fun for free? There are a few things, but this past weekend, one family found a way to have free fun for a whole community.

Free Entertainment in the Magic Valley

There are ways to find affordable and free entertainment, although you might have to get creative at times. This past weekend, one family found a way to entertain their family, their friends, their neighbors, and part of the community. As seen in the pictures above, a fire got out of control this past weekend in Buhl, but with the fire, some music playing, and an appearance by the firefighters to put it out, there was plenty to watch and enjoy. The good news is that nobody was harmed, but many enjoyed the show throughout the night. It is not smart or recommended to duplicate this, but if you see a fire this size, take the time and see what is going on. It is worth the time to enjoy the entertainment. 

Fire in Buhl

The fire in Buhl got to a point that it had grown so much, that it could be spotted miles away, and looked like it could have been a house, a vehicle, or something on fire. It ended up being a fire with parts of trees, wood, and other things that got out of control, leading to the fire department being called to help lessen the flames. Watching them use the hose and put it out added to the show, and had cars pulling over Friday night, as well as neighbors coming out to watch. It may not have been intended to gather a crowd, but it worked as a way to enjoy a Friday night in a town that usually is quiet after 10 PM.

While it is not recommended to start fires for entertainment, it does show that there are ways to have fun at night without having to spend money. Bonfires can work, so long as they are done in a safe place and not when in a drought. Don't let your fires become this big though. Have fun this summer and enjoy the summer nights, but be safe in what you do, and find ways to make memories as a family, hopefully without having to call the fire department.
