Former BSU Star Gives His Old Idaho High School New Weight Room

A former Boise State Bronco linebacker has donated money for a new weight room for the central Idaho high school in which he graduated.

Former Salmon River High School athlete and current Dallas Cowboy Leighton Vander Esch recently paid to have a brand new weight room added to the school's campus. Vander Esch also played football for the Boise State Broncos prior to being drafted into the NFL in 2018.

It's estimated the cost of the new weight room totaled in the area of $70,000, according to a report by at si.com. Vander Esch coordinated the addition to the school with Boise Fitness Equipment. In his rookie season with Dallas, he set the Cowboy's single season record for tackles with 140.

Vander Esch attended Salmon River High School from 2010 to 2014, before attending Boise State University. He was the 19th pick in last year's NFL draft.
