A lot of us are staying close to home this year as the COVID-19 pandemic rages on, luckily, there are some really cool places you can stay nearby if you find yourself going crazy but you don't want to cross state borders. Here's Five Funky Idaho Hotels to Stay In.

1. LePoule Roost in Caldwell: It's a two bedroom, two bathroom guest barn with a kitchen that comes with a free pass to the orchard, the garden, fire pit, and pizza/bbq grill. At only $185/night, it's a steal of a deal!

2. Dog Bark Park Inn in Cottonwood: The only place I know of where you can stay inside a hotel shaped like a huge dog! (Inside scoop, Kieran Culkin (Macaulay Culkin's little brother) stayed at the Dog Bark Park Inn on his honeymoon! (If you didn't know I have had a crush on Macaulay Culkin for 30 years... so I know this kind of stuff. Ha!) Rates are around $135/night, so not too shabby!

3. The Idaho Potato Hotel in Boise: If you're a big fan of the potato, you have to spend the night in the Idaho Potato Hotel! Yes, it's shaped like a huge potato. With one queen bed, it only accommodates two, and runs $250 a night, but what an experience!

4. The Idaho Castle (in Hope, Idaho : Overlooking Lake Pend Oreille): If you want to head North and invite some extended family, the Idaho Castle is an experience you will never forget. It's a legit castle that sleeps 16 with 6300 sq. ft. to explore. The Castle will set you back $375 a night and you have to stay a minimum of three nights, but if you split it up with the fam, it's not too bad!

5. The Treehouse in Ketchum: Every kids dream come true! My children have always wanted a treehouse and we've never had large enough trees to build one. They would love this. You do have to share a bathroom with guests staying in a separate treehouse, so it's kind of a clamping experience, but it would certainly bring the kid out in anyone!

Our beautiful state has so much to offer. Even if you don't feel comfortable staying in a hotel until the pandemic is over, put these places on your bucket list because they sure seem like a once in a lifetime experience.
