You can check out an interactive map that allows you to see how close you live to a house that has been proven used as a drug den. It also shows just how bad or good Idaho ranks in the drug problem in comparison to the rest of the United States.

With Halloween right around the corner, this could be even more helpful. We put in our address here at the radio station and are within .89 miles of a location that has been used as a "clandestine laboratory". A clandestine laboratory means basically any property that has used chemicals illegally to produce an illegal product.

Just because a meth lab once existed close to your home does not necessarily mean that there is still a meth lab that close to you. Hopefully, the stats are going down. Idaho has had 54 meth labs reported in the entire state.

The top 5 states with the worst meth problem are Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Mississippi and Indiana. Those states have the most meth labs per population of people.

Idaho isn't ranked in the bottom 5 either though, unfortunately. The states with the least meth problems are Maryland, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Hawaii and Connecticut. Hawaii doesn't surprise me that much because unless it is manufactured on the islands it would be harder to get the product there.

There is a lot of good information about meth and its impact on states across the country if you would like to read the research. If not, it is still a good idea to check if your neighborhood may be one to watch.
