Fatal Early-Morning Collision in Twin Falls Leaves One Dead, Several Injured
Crash Occurs at Highland Avenue and Lois Street
A fatal traffic accident early Saturday morning has claimed the life of a Twin Falls resident and left several others injured. The crash happened around 3:15 a.m. on February 22 at the intersection of Highland Avenue and Lois Street.
According to preliminary reports, a 2016 Chrysler 300 failed to obey a stop sign on Highland Avenue and collided with a 2014 Chrysler 200.
Driver Flees Scene, Later Located by Police
Police say the driver of the Chrysler 300 fled after the crash but was later found at his residence. He was transported to St. Luke's Magic Valley Regional Medical Center for treatment. Four other passengers in the Chrysler 300 sustained minor injuries and were treated.
Victim Airlifted to Boise, Later Dies from Injuries
The driver of the Chrysler 200, a 30-year-old Twin Falls resident, suffered severe injuries and was airlifted to a hospital in Boise. Despite medical efforts, he died from his injuries on Saturday afternoon.
Investigation Remains Ongoing
The Twin Falls Police Department is continuing to investigate the crash. Due to the active nature of the case, officials have stated that no further information will be released at this time.
Twin Falls Police expressed appreciation for the assistance provided by the Twin Falls Fire Department, the Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Office, the Idaho State Police, St. Luke's Magic Valley paramedics, and Air St. Lukes.
