An Elmore County woman is facing felony driving under the influence charges when she was arrested earlier this week for allegedly driving while intoxicated in Blaine County.

According to the Blaine County Sheriff's Office, 49-year-old Jan Brown, of Featherville, was arrested Wednesday evening, October 9, after deputies were notified of a possible intoxicated driver going east on U.S. Highway 20. A deputy caught up with Brown, driving a newer Chevrolet Tahoe, and allegedly found signs of intoxication and conducted a field sobriety test.

Brown is charged with excessive driving under the influence of alcohol, by having a blood alcohol concentration of .20 or more. According to the sheriff's office, the charge was made a felony because Brown was convicted in 2017 of excessive DUI. She has since been arraigned and released on a $10,000 bond.
