Stage 2: Pre-Evacuation Alert Issued for Croy Creek and Rock Creek Canyons

At approximately 6:00 PM Mountain Time, the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office issued a Level 2 "Be Set" (Pre-Evacuation) notice for all properties located in Croy Creek and Rock Creek Canyons, west of Hailey, Idaho. According to the alert, residents in these areas faced significant risk. The notice advised individuals to either voluntarily relocate to a safer area, such as a shelter or with friends and family, or to be prepared to leave at a moment’s notice.

The sheriff’s office emphasized the importance of maintaining situational awareness and taking action if conditions worsened. "If you are in danger, do not wait for an evacuation order—LEAVE IMMEDIATELY," the alert warned, underscoring the potential severity of the situation.

Stage 3: Immediate Evacuation Order

Just an hour later, at approximately 7:00 PM Mountain Time, the situation escalated rapidly, prompting the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office to issue a Level 3 "GO NOW" evacuation notice. This urgent directive applied to all properties from Rock Creek Road westward, including Rancho Cielo Road up to and including Red Elephant Gulch Road, west of Hailey.

A Level 3 evacuation notice signifies that danger is either currently affecting the area or is imminent, and residents must evacuate immediately to ensure their safety. The sheriff’s office reiterated the critical nature of the situation, urging everyone in the affected areas to leave without delay.
