Charges Filed Against Hanes
A Twin Falls man accused of holding his ex-girlfriend hostage for five hours Sunday morning is being held in jail on $150,000 bond.

Twin Falls County Prosecutor Grant Loebs says 35-year-old Nathaniel Hanes was arraigned Monday on numerous charges including aggravated assault with a weapon enhancement, kidnapping in the second degree, burglary and two counts of grand theft. Around 1 a.m. Sunday, Twin Falls Police got a 911 call saying a man with a gun entered an apartment on 2nd Avenue North, took a woman hostage and barricaded them both in a bedroom. Hostage negotiators along with SWAT teams were called to the scene. Around 6 a.m., Hanes surrendered to police without incident and was taken into custody. The woman was found safe and unharmed. Hanes is due back in court on Oct. 7 for a preliminary hearing.
