Fatal Crash on US95 Near Parks Road, South of Athol

The Idaho State Police (ISP) is investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash that occurred on December 27, 2024, at approximately 7:27 p.m. The collision happened on northbound US95 at Parks Road, just south of Athol in Kootenai County.

Details of the Incident

According to ISP, a 2012 Toyota Tacoma driven by a 23-year-old male from Trego, Montana, was traveling northbound on US95 when it struck a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder pulling out of Parks Road to head southbound. The Nissan was occupied by a 75-year-old male driver and a 92-year-old female passenger, both from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

The female passenger in the Nissan was pronounced deceased at the scene. Both male drivers were transported to a local hospital by ground ambulance and are reported to be in stable condition.

Alcohol and Speed Not Suspected

Authorities confirmed that all individuals involved in the crash were wearing seatbelts, and neither alcohol nor speed is believed to be a factor in the incident.

The Idaho State Police continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
