Alabama Cancels More Shows Due to Randy Owen’s Continued Health Issues

Alabama frontman Randy Owen has continued to experience issues with cluster migraines and vertigo, leaving the group no choice but to cancel two more scheduled shows in August 2019. The band has announced that they have scrapped their scheduled Friday  (Aug. 16) performance at the State Fair of West Virginia in Lewisburg, West Va., and their Saturday (Aug. 17) performance in Holmdel, N.J.

In a statement, Tony Conway of Ontourage Management broke the news to Lewisburg concertgoers. "Randy Owen, the lead singer, is being treated for cluster migraines and vertigo and is under doctor's orders not to perform," he wrote. "...The band Alabama was looking forward to performing for fans on the 50th Anniversary Tour, and apologize for the inconvenience."

On social media, the State Fair of West Virginia also indicated that refunds will be issued immediately for credit cards, and within 7-10 business days after the fair concludes for other forms of payment. Additionally, Jamey Johnson is now scheduled to perform at the State Fair in the 8PM Friday evening slot.

The legendary country group previously canceled shows on July 26 and July 27 due to Owen's health issues. Before that, the vertigo and migraines their frontman suffers also forced them to cancel performances on July 19 and July 20. The band has not given any performances between the nixed July shows and the just-canceled August appearances; their last tour stop was on July 12. Their next scheduled concerts are on Aug. 23 in Grand Rapids, Mich. and Aug. 24 in North Lawrence, Ohio.

Alabama embarked on their 50th anniversary tour in January 2019. In May, they added 28 new shows to the trek, keeping them on the road into November. For the group's full calendar, visit their website.
