My "secret boyfriend" and I decided to take a little drive up Table Rock on Saturday, but we were surprised to find you can't do that anymore. Here's what to expect before you head up to one of the most scenic sights in Boise.

It used to be that if you didn't want to hike Table Rock or you physically couldn't, you could still get to the top by a quick drive up the back side. When we got there on Saturday afternoon we were met by two guards who were patrolling the area. They told us that no one can drive up to Table Rock through the end of the year and the only way to get up is by foot. (We're assuming this is to avoid larger gatherings due to COVID-19, but we didn't ask.)

We decided to give the 1/2 mile hike up to the top a go and it still proved to be a great alternative if you want a quicker trip up. The hike up the back is also a lot less steep than the traditional hike and remains a good option if you are less physically fit.

I thought I would pass the message along so you don't make the drive up without knowing you can only get so far before you'll have to put a little sweat in.

I'm reminded every single time I get to the top of Table Rock that we are so lucky to live in such a stunning place. Boise you are Beautiful!
