President Jimmy Carter started the celebration of women and a month in the dedication that started back in 1980. It's too bad you only get a month, but that's for another time.

I would love to highlight some of the Gem State's most popular women that you might not know exist. Did you know that this Idahoan has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame? Say hello to Marjorie Reynolds (Goodspeed) who is an actress and artist.

The more I look through the things that make Idaho special, you uncover hidden gems. March celebrates the history of women and Idaho shouldn't be forgotten. Marjorie has her name on the star that is surrounded by Marilyn Monroe, Ellen Degeneres, and Oprah Winfrey just to name a few blockbuster women. We have one from Buhl, Idaho.

Marjorie was a stunning Idahoan that danced her way through hearts on the big screen. The Idaho native acted and danced alongside Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire in "Holiday Inn". This just one of her many accomplishments in Hollywood. She was also featured in a little film you might have heard of called, "Gone with the Wind." In other words, our friend from Buhl represented our great state with class.

There is a scene where Bing Crosby sings "White Christmas" to Marjorie while playing the piano. Bing is a star, but listen to our Marjorie drop some notes herself.

She passed away in February 1, 1997 at age 79. Can you imagine if she was alive in 2021 and who she might be starring with? There is no doubt we would be hosting meet and greets with Marjorie Reynolds at the Egyptian Theater as she debuted a new movie.

Marjorie Reynolds (Goodspeed) from Buhl is one of Idaho's Women of Influence.
