Think You’re Not Superstitious? Think Again.

I don't consider myself superstitious. Black cats don't bother me, I'm pretty sure I've walked under a few ladders and I drop salt without throwing it over my shoulder.

But when I REALLY started to think about it, I found a hidden superstition. When my wife and I are watching our kids play sports, we sometimes put the video camera away for fear that taping it will "jinx" them.

I know. There's no logical reasoning to any of it but I cannot tell you how many times we've taken the video camera out just to record a missed pass or s slip. Then, we put away the camera and things seem to right themselves. Coincidence? Probably. But it's hard to fight that insanely unrealistic urge to believe that recording the event will somehow have bearing on the outcome of the game.
