Why Did Taylor Swift Erase Her Instagram, Twitter and Facebook Posts?
Astute fans noticed that the move comes three years to the day after Swift went pop by announcing her 1989 album and releasing "Shake It Off." Swift has been rumored to be working on new music, perhaps with a fall release in mind. Everyone associated with the star has been tight-lipped about the finer details.
Swift is saying nothing, but she caused a social media panic by deleting every single picture she had previously shared on Instagram, also erasing her tweets all the way back to September 2015. Select posts on her official Facebook page are still available (the newest is a kangaroo selfie from 2015), but her profiles have removed any sort of cover or profile images. The #TaylorComeBack hashtag is an amusing place to visit if you have time.

This mass-deletion of social posts is similar to what the Band Perry did twice in the last year. First they reset their social media accounts to set up the release of a song called "Comeback Kid." That song fared poorly at country radio, so the sibling trio again reset to set up a full turn to pop music.
This isn't easy to do, they would go on to tell Taste of Country. While there is a way to clean house in one push of a button on Twitter, each Instagram photo needs to be deleted individually.
If a new album is on the way for Swift, it's likely to be another pop album with little for the country music fan. While 1989 has been a huge commercial success, it came at the expense of some country music followers who appreciated the singer-songwriter Swift instead of the glossy, heavily-produced version of the singer.
