A man reportedly entered a southeast Idaho Hobby Lobby store and attempted to steal items. When police searched him, they discovered he had a small amount of methamphetamine, multiple needles and a pipe containing marijuana residue.

The Bonneville County Sheriff's Office took a 35-year-old man into custody on Monday for allegedly shoplifting from an Idaho Falls area Hobby Lobby store, according to details shared by eastidahonews.com. Minor L. Sharp, of Idaho Falls, was approached by Idaho police officers at approximately 3:00 p.m. on December 9 after they responded to a report of attempted shoplifting by a man and woman.

Store employees called police after they suspected the man was high and had store items concealed on him. No female was found at the scene to be in any possession of stolen Hobby Lobby goods. Sharp was met by area police in the store's parking lot, where no items from the store were discovered to be in possession.

Bonneville County Sheriff's officers did find methamphetamine on the man, which totaled less than one gram. Hypodermic needles and a pipe that contained marijuana residue were also discovered to be in Sharp's possession.

Police took the man into custody on drug charges. Upon processing at the Bonneville County Jail, the pipe was discovered. Felony possession of methamphetamine, along with possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor, have been filed against Sharp.

No further information about this case has been released. If convicted, Sharp could face a $25,000 fine and jail time, according to Idaho state law, Section 37-2732.
