The Cece's Veggie brand is sold at grocery stores across the United States, and it's the egg ingredients in the noodle mixture that has been targeted for posing the potential risk to illness. Listeria has been known to be fatal to children and seniors, and those with compromised immune systems. Listeria causes fever, aching, nausea and diarrhea. The eggs used in the ramen mixture were a product of Almark Foods.

There have been no reported cases of illness linked to the ramen noodle brand to date. The product has been removed from the shelves of all stores it's sold in. For those that believe they might have purchased the product, check the serving and UPC information stamp, and if it reads as 11.5 oz, UPC 5228700653, then discarding the product or returning it for a refund is suggested.

For those that have questions or concerns, you can contact the consumer hotline, at 512-200-3337, between the hours of 9 AM-5 PM (CT). Veggie Noodle Co. made the recall announcement on December 28, 2019.
