Reba McEntire’s Not Mad About Hosting the ACM Awards Again (Okay, a Little)
Fans who miss seeing Reba McEntire on TV won't have to wait much longer. She makes her grand return to the small screen as host of the 2018 ACM Awards on April 15, and she's ready.
She's just not sure which version of herself she's going to be yet.
A fun new promo for the awards show allows McEntire to flex her acting skills and range of emotion as a mock announcer asks her to deliver the line "I'm back" in a variety of styles. Naturally, the superstar nails each task she's given, growling the phrase when prompted to say it angrily, going over the top with fake crying when delivering it sadly and even brushing up on her foreign languages as she delivers the French translation, "je suis revenu." The legendary country star has been brushing up on her acting skills a lot lately, as she's also the first female celebrity to portray Colonel Sanders in KFC's new commercial campaign.
Dierks Bentley revealed last month that he and Luke Bryan would not be returning as hosts of the 2018 ACMs, likely because of Bryan's new gig as an American Idol judge. They'd co-hosted for two years, but they're passing it off to a legend — McEntire hosted the show for more than a decade before stepping down in 2013 to let Bryan and former co-host Blake Shelton take the reins.
The 2018 ACM Awards air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on April 15.
