Washington Resort Has Lake Cabins, Views Of Canadian Mountains

If it's an incredible view you seek this summer, then do I have a destination for you. Northern Washington State has a lake with private cabins and docks that is considered to be one of the best vacation spots in the country, and the natural beauty of the surroundings is hard to beat.

Washinton isn't known as "The Evergreen State" for nothing. In 2021, I had the opportunity to drive up the Oregon coast and to Seattle. I visited cities such as Newport, Astoria, and Florence, Oregon, as well as Tacoma, Olympia, and Seattle, Washington; it was one of the best road trips I've ever taken.

The lake has world-class hiking, boating, and kayaking, and private cabins line its shores. A boat ride up the lake can take visitors into Canada, and the surrounding mountains appear to be like something out of a movie.

One region of the state I've never explored is the northcentral portion, where Ross Lake Resort can be found. The lake is in a remote, mountainous area roughly 30 miles from the Canadian border, and Ross Lake runs northward into Canada. Ross Lake is nearly a three-hour drive from Seattle.

I recently stumbled across the lake's website thanks to a travel alert I received on my phone. I can imagine reservations are tough to get and it's quite an adventure in itself just to get there, but my daughter lives near Seattle and we've been bouncing the idea of visiting off one another.
