The upcoming Super Bowl 57 is exciting for several reasons. For starters, it's the first time in the history of professional football that two African American quarterbacks will face off in the biggest sporting event in the United States. Since the Gem State has no professional team, who are Idahoans pulling for between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs?

No matter how people feel about the upcoming Super Bowl matchup, destiny played out nicely in that both number one seeds in the American Football Conference (AFC) and the National Football Conference (NFC) moved on to the "big dance." I watched both conference championship games, and it's obvious both teams want the Vince Lombardi Trophy badly.

Kansas City last won the Super Bowl in 2020 having beaten the San Francisco Forty Niners. The Eagles won it in 2017 against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. Both teams have incredibly talented quarterbacks in Patrick Mahomes (KC) and Jalen Hurts (Philly).

The internet is already blowing up with predictions and computer-generated simulations regarding Super Bowl 57, which will be played at Statefarm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on Sunday, February 12. The Eagles are two-point favorites, according to ESPN.

In all my years living in Twin Falls, I have crossed paths with more Eagles fans than Chiefs fans. Of course, I noticed these Eagles jerseys started popping up at places like the Anchor Bistro & Bar AFTER the team's Super Bowl 52 victory. If there's one thing I can't stand relating to sports, it's a bandwagon "fan."

I grew up an Eagles fan, and have been supporting the team through many, many, dark seasons of putrid football. I'm just ecstatic I'll get to see them compete for the NFL championship at least one more time in my life. The Eagles seem built to make a few more runs in the next five to eight years. Something you never want to do is underestimate Patrick Mahomes because he's a baller.

My prediction:

Eagles 35

Chiefs 24

As an Idahoan, who do you hope wins Super Bowl 57? Or, could you care less?
