
California Man Shot After Heinous Decapitation Of Parents, Dog
Every once in a while, we hear of news stories that shake us to the core. Stories that are so heinous it's hard to fathom that people are capable of such terrible acts. Last week, a Southern California neighborhood was rattled by an unspeakable act of violence.
Police in San Juan Capistrano are still trying to figure out what drove a 41-year-old man to dismember his parents and family dog last week. All of the victims of this horrific crime had their heads removed. The perpetrator was shot by police and is recovering in an area hospital, according to ABC 7 Eyewitness News.
There's a lot we don't know yet about this individual. Right off the bat, the subject of mental illness has to be a main focus.

I grew up 10 miles from San Juan Capistrano in Mission Viejo. Capistrano is a quiet city known for its artsy community and architecture. This story just proves that insanity lurks everywhere.
It's easy to jump to conclusions in cases like this. "Throw the book at him," is a response people might have after reading about this story. There's a lot we don't know yet about this individual. Right off the bat, the subject of mental illness has to be a main focus.
Orange County is generally a safe place to live. I spent almost 10 years living there and never heard of anything remotely this sick happening in the region. This man will be in court in a few days and the eyes of the world will be on him.
