Breastfeeding in public or on a social sharing environment has been a hotly debated topic for a long time. Nowadays, videos of mothers feeding their children are all over platforms such as Instagram, and many women are becoming Internet celebrities as a result of their content.

I fully support a woman's right to breastfeed their children anywhere and whenever they need to. I still view the act as an incredibly private matter, but I'm not uncomfortable or offended in the least when I see it happening in a public setting. What I have noticed recently is that there are dozens of channels related to breastfeeding that cross my Instagram feed almost daily.

Instagram first began allowing breastfeeding images back in 2015. Shortly after, celebrities began sharing videos and images of themselves milk-feeding their babies, which ruffled the feathers of some in the Instagram community.

There is a massive amount of people--both young and old--viewing these videos as a way to satisfy sexual cravings.

I recently watched a video produced by a young man that raised the issue of women sharing these videos for ulterior motives that have nothing to do with educating viewers. I think the guy made a few solid points, but to say all women are trying to earn fame and fortune by posting this type of content is ludicrous.
