It’s official, the Twin Falls School District has decided to ban cell phone use during school hours.

There will be some exceptions and special circumstances when mobile devices can be used and also disciplinary actions for failure to follow the rules.

New Cell Phone Policy For Twin Falls School District in 2024

If you have children in school, they are going to hate this new policy. As a parent, you may also hate it, because you’ll have to hear the complaints each day about how hard it is to go 7 hours without a phone. The policy will be great though for teachers and for helping students focus in class.

The ‘Devices Off Learning On’ is also called Policy 3735, and includes a variety of personal electronic devices: cell phones, smart watches, earbuds, and headphones. These devices must be silenced and kept out of sight in lockers or backpacks. This includes during class, in hallways, recess, and assemblies.

Any devices used during the day will be confiscated until the end of the day when students can retrieve them. If the issue happens more than once, parents will have to collect the devices from the office.

What if Parents or Students Have an Emergency and Need to be Contacted

In cases of emergency or when a parent wants to contact their child, they will be allowed to call the front office. Messages will be conveyed to students.
