Update on 30 Vehicle Pileup East of Twin Falls Monday
Idaho State Police have issued an update on some of the information given in the original police report on Monday morning’s accident near Pocatello. 1 fatality has now been confirmed after a man involved in the accident died at a hospital in Utah.
Fog Causes Massive Pileup on I86 in Southern Idaho
Monday morning in Southern Idaho at approximately 8 AM on eastbound I86 west of Pocatello, Idaho State Police responded to a multi-vehicle accident near milepost 56. ISP is investigating the accident:
A thick layer of fog covered the interstate causing limited visibility in a short amount of time. Due to the fog, vehicles slowed down suddenly. Commercial and personal vehicles collided with one another causing a chain reaction of approximately thirty vehicles.
Minor injuries were reported with one person being transported to a local hospital via ground ambulance, and several others transported by personal vehicles.
The highway was blocked for about 7 hours while crews assisted those involved and tow trucks cleared the scene.

1 Dead After Accident in Southern Idaho
Tuesday morning, ISP responded to a single-vehicle accident on Bogus Basin Road in Ada County:
At about 5 a.m. this morning, ISP troopers responded to the report of a single-vehicle collision near milepost 13 on Bogus Basin Road. Arriving troopers located a 2007 Nissan Altima with an unconscious female driver.
The driver, a 32-year-old Boise woman, was transported to a local hospital where she passed away.
The identity of the woman and cause of death was not released at this time but will be when the Ada County Coroner determines that information. The accident is being investigated by Idaho State Police with assistance from the Ada County Sheriff’s Office.
