Who Is Ty Myers and Why Is Everyone Talking About Him

If you haven't heard of him yet, you will. The 18-year-old Texas native doesn't fit neatly into one lane, and that's exactly what makes him worth paying attention to.

Ty grew up on a cattle ranch outside Austin, listening to George Strait with his dad and Otis Redding with his mom. Those two worlds collided into a sound that tops my personal playlist right now. Ty combines bluesy guitar chops, soulful vocals, and classic country storytelling. And I really respect a performer like Ty who pens his own stuff.

Ty Myers Has Been Writing Songs Since He Was Eight Years Old

What were you doing at 18? I was learning to parallel park, and I'm still not so good at it.

Here's what Ty has been up to. His debut album The Select went gold, his single "Ends of the Earth" cracked the Billboard Hot 100 and is now platinum certified, and his second album Heavy on the Soul dropped just last month. He is currently on the road as a Luke Combs stadium tour opener.

The Legal Tour Explained and Why the Name Actually Makes Sense

The Nampa show is part of Myers' first major headline run, called The Legal Tour. The name is a nod to the fact that he just turned old enough to perform in venues where alcohol is served. The tour launches in June and includes some serious stops along the way, including Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado.
