Heavenly Bites by Shawna Brings Fresh Baked Goods to Wendell

Wendell, Idaho, is now home to a brand-new bakery, Heavenly Bites by Shawna, a passion project years in the making. Owned and operated by Shawna Tvrdy and her husband Tyler, the bakery serves up a mix of sweet and savory baked goods.

A Bakery Built from the Ground Up

Rather than moving into an existing storefront, Shawna and her family decided to build the bakery from scratch on their commercial property. The decision to set up shop right in front of their home was a practical one.

"We purchased the property, and our home is on it. As we looked for places to build a storefront, it just kept pulling us back to doing it in front of our home," Shawna explained.

From Cottage Baker to Storefront Owner

Shawna’s journey as a baker started in 2010 when she made her first birthday cake for her child. From there, she began baking for friends and family, eventually earning a cottage license and turning her hobby into a growing business.

After years of perfecting her craft, she has opened the doors to a brick-and-mortar location, welcoming locals to enjoy her baked goods in a dedicated storefront.

What’s on the Menu?

Heavenly Bites by Shawna offers a variety of treats:

• Savory breakfast items

One of her standout menu items is a breakfast roll, which takes the concept of a cinnamon roll and gives it a savory twist.

"It's scrambled eggs, cheese, and bacon wrapped in dough, baked, and then topped with sausage gravy," Shawna described.

In addition to this unique offering, the bakery rotates daily breakfast specials, including breakfast burritos, breakfast sandwiches, and other hearty options designed to be convenient for people on the go.

Future Growth and Expanded Menu

While many customers have asked whether donuts will be on the menu, Shawna has decided to focus on what she does best.

"Donuts are a specialty of their own, and that's not where I specialize," she said. Instead, she’s considering expanding into sandwiches, using fresh bread to create a simple grab-and-go lunch option in the future.

Hours, Ordering, and Custom Treats

Following their grand opening this weekend, Heavenly Bites by Shawna will be open Thursday through Saturday from 7 AM to 6 PM at 530 West Main Street in Wendell, ID. Customers can also place custom orders throughout the week.

Grand Opening Celebration

Shawna has already had a few soft openings, and the official grand opening will take place on Saturday, February 15, from 8 AM to 4 PM.
