In a move that makes way too much sense for anyone to have actually considered it, Microsoft and Universal Studios are partnering up for a standalone expansion to Forza Horizon 2 based around The Fast and the Furious movie franchise, just in time for Furious 7's theatrical release in April.

This expansion, aptly titled Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious, will let players drive signature vehicles from the movie franchise, like the 1970 Dodge Charger R/T as shown in the teaser above along with some new cars debuting in Furious 7.

Forza is synonymous with racing and fun, so it’s only natural for us to work with one of the most celebrated automotive entertainment franchises in the world,” said Phil Spencer, head of Xbox.  “This is a great way to bring Forza players into the world of Fast & Furious, and in Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious, every fan will get a chance to go wheels-first into the exciting action of the Fast & Furious franchise.”

This seems like a slam dunk for fans of Forza, as a free expansion to the game is never a bad thing. The only setback is this expansion's standalone nature, meaning that anything acquired in the Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious experience stays there with no hope of being ported to the actual Forza Horizon 2 game. If that changes, then this expansion will become total brilliance, but for now it's just a really good idea.

Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious launches March 27th on Xbox One and Xbox 360.
