Last week you could hear the disappointment across the Treasure valley when just hours before kick-off, the BSU vs. San Jose game was canceled. After Interim Athletic Director Bob Carney released the statement below we were hopeful for this Friday nights game.

“Because of a delay at the lab, our results from Thursday’s tests didn't come back until late yesterday, which meant our staff were contact tracing until late last night. Under the circumstances, and with limited numbers within specific position groups, our coaches, administration and medical personnel met this morning and determined that it was not in the best interest of our student-athletes’ safety and well-being to play today’s game. I am disappointed for the student-athletes, coaches and fans, both at Boise State and San Jose State, and am hopeful the Broncos will be able to return to the field this next week against UNLV.”

Fast forward to Wednesday and our hearts were broken once again when this statement was released in regards to Friday's game against UNLV.

"Based on guidance from medical personnel and epidemiologists, Friday’s game has been canceled and will not be rescheduled," the statement continues. "Both medical teams have been in communication in order to understand the full picture of COVID issues in our region."

Okay now that we've heard all the bad news, where are the good news? The good news is this, even if the Wyoming game is cancelled and BSU doesn't play in another regular season game they will play in the Mountain West Conference Championship game and may even host the game according to ktvb's Jay Tust. Is this wishful thinking? Not at all, its simple math. get excited Bronco fans... we're playing in the Championship game.
