It was something we never imagined could happen in our peaceful city of Boise, but 30-year-old Timothy Kinner destroyed that innocence last summer when he stabbed and killed a 3-year-old little girl on her birthday and injured eight others.

Timothy Earl Kinner has been ruled mentally fit to stand trial. He was moved from a mental health facility at the Idaho Maximum Security Institution to the Ada County Jail on Saturday.

According to an article on KTVB, Kinner was previously found incompetent to stand trial regarding his unspeakable acts at the Wylie Street Station Apartments in June of 2018.

If you are unfamiliar with the horrific tale, Kinner busted onto the scene of 3-year-old Ruya Kadir's birthday party and stabbed her to death. Kinner also stabbed five other children and three adults who were hospitalized but survived their injuries. He had no relation to the victims and no motive has been released for his unspeakable acts.

Judge Nancy Baskin determined Saturday that he had a reasonable degree of understanding and that he has a rational and factual understandings of the proceedings against him.

Kinner's trial will take place in January of 2020.
