Blood Donations So Low Red Cross is Offering Amazon Gift Cards

Red Cross is offering Amazon gift cards to those who donate blood or platelets for the next several weeks due to a huge shortage of blood in the blood banks across the country.

Currently the Red Cross only has a two day supply of type O blood and less than a three day supply of other blood types such as Type A, B, AB etc.

Amazon has donated $1 million in gift cards the Red Cross to encourage donations.

Here are the locations and dates and times of the upcoming donation events in Tri-Cities

Kennewick Blood Drives:

• HAPO on Clearwater Aug. 8th from 11 am  to 4 pm
• Hanson Park LDS church Aug. 8th from 1 pm to 6 pm
•  St. Joseph’s Parish Aug. 13th
• Visiting Angels Aug. 15th from 11 am to 4 pm

Pasco Blood Drives:

• Lourdes Medical Center Aug. 5th 10 am to 3 pm
•  The Crossings at Chapel Hill Aug. 5th 12;30 pm to 5:30 pm
•  Education Service District 123 office on Court Street Aug. 7th 12 pm to 5:30pm

West Richland's Benton REA  is also holding a blood drive 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 8th.

Remember you may donate blood anytime at the Red Cross Richland Donation Station located at 447 Wellsian Drive
