I will be the first to admit that I am still learning when it comes to my children and our school systems. That being said, what is the proper procedure for dropping off your children at school? At High Schools I know there is a specific "Drop Off Zone" but at the elementary school my son attends there is a sign that says "No Stopping On Curb".

According to the National Household Travel Survey, 75% of parents now drive their children to school.  In 1969, it was only 15%.

 And parents drive their kids even though at least half of the school-age children in this country live within two miles of their schools.
