CHUBBUCK (KTVB) -- The family of a 5-year-old girl killed in a tragic accidental shooting is sharing her story.

Relatives tell KPVI that Noelle Shawver was a happy and loving child, who would have started kindergarten this fall.

Noelle was accidentally shot and killed Wednesday afternoon.

Chubbuck Police were called to the home where Noelle was visiting around 3 p.m.

When officers responded, they found Noelle Shawver suffering from a gunshot wound.

She was rushed to the hospital where she died.

Police say another five-year-old who lives at the home somehow got access to the gun.

Investigators say the adults were home but were in a separate room at the time.

As you can imagine, the tragedy is difficult for the families involved, but also for those at the scene.

Lt. Bill Guiberson with Chubbuck Police said, "For any first responders, police, firefighters, EMS, these are the type of calls you don't ever want to respond to. So it's unfortunate, and our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this point."

The case is still under investigation.

Relatives say the family has no animosity toward the five-year-old who is accused of accidentally shooting Noelle.
