Killing someone is one of the worst things a person can do, and despite it being against the law, and having to live with the guilt, murder happens far too often in this country and around the world. There are many different ways to kill someone, and all of them are wrong. Shooting, stabbing, car wrecks, bombs, fires, suffocating, and more are all ways nobody should die. There is no good time to kill someone, but there is a time of year when killing seems to be more popular than the rest of the year, and that time is fast approaching.

There have been some iconic killings in the history of the United States that stick out. While the events that took place on September 11 are the most iconic, other tragic events took place. There was the Oklahoma City bombing, the Virginia Tech shootings, the Columbine High School shootings, the Boston Marathon bombing, and a mass stabbing in Philadelphia. Did you ever notice that all of them happen to take place in the same month? The month of April is known as the season of killing for this reason. Why is it that more killings, especially some iconic events, all happen to take place around this time of year?

What makes April the prime time for killing? It can easily be chalked up to a coincidence, but with that many instances, it seems to be too consistent. There could be a few major things that factor in. This is the time of the year that is the longest on the calendar without any built-in holiday weekends. The continuous school days and work days can take a toll on a person. It is tax season, and the stress of doing taxes and potentially owing money can make someone lose their mind. Winter is long and can often stretch to April. Cabin fever may affect some in a bad way, and give them months to plan a horrendous act like the ones listed above. Some experts think that people want to pay homage to some of the acts above, or perhaps celebrate one of the most notorious killers in history, Adolf Hitler, who celebrates his birthday in April as well.

Experts continue to be baffled by what the official cause is for all the violent behavior in April. As the month gets closer, take a breath and relax, and don't become a part of the wrong side of history. Nobody that committed a violent crime above had a good ending, and it isn't worth it. If you feel the urge to be violent during the killing season this year, get a punching back and take your anger out on it. There is never a reason to kill.
