Micron CEO Steve Appleton has been killed in a plane crash at the Boise Airport. His experimental fixed wing single engine Lancair crashed around 9 a.m. in between two runways at the airport. KTVB-TV in Boise reports a chilling recording from air traffic controllers paints the picture of panic shortly after take-off.

It’s Game Day For The Boise State Broncos
It’s game day for the Boise state broncos as they battle against the Arizona state sun devils in the MAACO Bowl Las Vegas.
Boise State played in the MAACO Bowl just 12 months ago, riding to a 26-3 win over Utah. Arizona State returns to the postseason for the first time since a 2007 Holiday Bowl loss. Underlying all this of course is some tension and some drama. Devils coach Dennis Erickson was fired Nov. 28 after his team collapsed with four consecutive losses following a 6-2 start, though the school will let him coach this game.

Jerome’s City Manager Resigns
Jerome City manager Ben Marchant has resigned. The Times News reports this afternoon that Marchant turned in his resignation to the Jerome city council during a closed door meeting. They accepted his resignation Tuesday night. Merchant was hired for the position in 2008.
