What The Meow? ‘Hello Kitty’ Is Not a Cat?
Prepare to have your world rocked: Hello Kitty--the popular cartoon character with whiskers and triangle shaped cat ears--isn't a cat. What the meow?
Hello Kitty's creators rocked the world with this bombshell earlier this week when they told the L.A. Times that "she's a cartoon character. She is a little girl. She is a friend. But she is not a cat."
Wait, what?
To prove their case, her creators reasoned that "Hello Kitty is never depicted on all fours. She walks and sits like a two-legged creature. She does have a pet cat of her own, however, and it's called Charmmy Kitty."
Still confused? Yeah... us too. Here are the rest of Hello Kitty's vital statistics:
- Real Name: Kitty White
- Hometown: London
- Parents: Mary and George White
- Sibling: Twin Sister Mimmy
- Pets: Charmmy Kitty and Pet Hamster Sugar
- Birthday: Nov. 1
- Blood Type: A
- Sign: Scorpio
- Height: 5 apples
- Weight: 3 apples
- Favorite Color: Red
Blood type? Astrological sign? She lives in London? She's not a cat? I feel like my world is spinning out of control. What's next? Will Charlie Brown announce that Snoopy isn't a dog? Or Bugs Bunny isn't a rabbit?
