My son is part of a great Martial Arts Program in Twin Falls and they have invited all of the students to ride on a float or walk beside the float in the Western Days Parade. I am an overly protective parent so I often think like a crazy person and this may be a prime example of that.

I really enjoy forcing people to rank how much they love different family members.  It's so uncomfortable and yet so fascinating. A new Mother's Day survey from MarketWatch was brave enough to do that . . . they asked women who they love more, their kids or their husband?  "I love them both the same" was not an option.

My poor little boys are sick and while I understand that all kids get sick it is still terrible to watch them be sick. I am positive that they have a 24 to 36 hour bug. The main system is a very high fever. Nine times out of ten Aspirin or Ibuprofen will lower a fever but yesterday afternoon I was having very little luck with any medicine.

I was raised on a farm so I don't really know how to be quiet outside. So when I am outside with my kids I  have a hard time not yelling at them to behave when they are out of line. Last night my husband got after the boys and actually yelled and whispered at the same time.

I am probably the only mother that has no idea what she is doing when it comes to registering her child for Kindergarten. Just in case I am not the only one out there who needs information here is what I found:

My son participates in Karate and seems to love it. He has missed a few practices due to illness and funerals, other than that he has attended every practice. That almost changed last night. My son got to Karate and decided that he didn't want to participate. He just wanted to sit and watch...he had no other real reason for not wanting to participate, he just wanted to watch. I have to admit that my five year old son is usually pretty well behaved when we go places. But yesterday he was like a completely different child. He was out of control in every way in an office. I found myself not even knowing how to handle the situation because I was in shock over how he was acting.

A friend of mine picks my son up from school once a week and she is constantly telling me that my son is really funny. She has also mentioned that my son likes to share EVERYTHING and if I knew what he had told her I would be so embarrassed.

I don't think there is anything wrong with leaving a 15 year old in the car while you run into the gas station to grab a soda, but I do think it is wrong to leave your 4 year old in the car. Although, I have left my son in an un-running, locked car while I ran into my house to grab something...

I love making a Birthday cake for my kids for their Birthdays and they seem to enjoy picking out what kind of cake they want me to make them. The cake my son picked out this year is going to cost me double the amount to make compared to if I bought the same cake. A little shocking, but true!

It is hard to know what the right thing to do is when your kids are sick. Both of my kids have been sick a lot this winter and I find myself making doctors appointments because I am freaked out only to turn around and cancel them because I realize they have a 24 hour bug.

My son's dentist called the other day and reminded me that it was time for his 6 month check-up. Last time I took him to the dentist he cried all the way in and all the way out. It took 4 people holding him down just so the dentist could look at his teeth. It was terrible!
