Fireworks: Should They Be Illegal?

After living in Nevada for over 20 years, I still find it very shocking to see fireworks stands in every parking lot and on every corner around the 4th of July. In Nevada consumer fireworks are illegal. If you are found in possession of illegal fireworks not only will you have the fireworks confiscated, but you could be cited, arrested, and face criminal charges.

My personal belief is that consumer fireworks should be illegal everywhere. They are responsible for many fires, accidents, and injuries. Should they be illegal in Idaho?

Idaho Ranks High In Rates of Mental Illness

Data from the US Substance Abuse and Mental Health Agency (SAMHSA) suggests 20 percent of American adults — 44.5 million people — experienced some sort of mental illness over the last year.

The report defines “mental illness” as any sort of diagnosable mental, behavioral or emotional disorder that causes “substantial functional impairment” or requires treatment, and provides a list of how much of each state’s population has suffered such a disorder.
