The Big N has confirmed that Super Smash Bros. is the Wii U's fastest-selling game of all time. Were you expecting ZombiU?

Nintendo announced that it has sold 490,000 combined units (both physical and digital) during its first three days of release for Super Smash Bros. in the United States. Smash has dethroned Mario Kart 8 as the fastest-selling Wii U game of all time. With over 14 million Super Smash Bros. games sold in the U.S. throughout franchise history, we're not really surprised on this new entry's success.

“The Nintendo holiday is off to a great start, but there’s a lot of work left to do and a few more surprises in store for our fans,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “With great deals coming on Black Friday and Cyber Monday and great content like Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker launching next week, Nintendo will offer shoppers the best combination of fun and value this holiday season.”

Factor in the success of the 3DS version of Super Smash Bros., and it's been a good season for the Big N.
